Account & data deletion

GumStory follows a Jira-style approach: when you delete your account or personal data, shared projects, tickets, comments, and history you contributed remain available to your team. Your internal user id is kept so work can still be filtered and included in reports.

Delete personal data (keep your account)

See the dedicated data deletion guide for the full list of what is removed and kept.

  1. Sign in at gumstory.com/login.
  2. Open Settings → Account.
  3. Under Delete personal data, type DELETE and confirm.

This removes profile details, avatar, connected Jira tokens, and preference data. It does not remove tickets, comments, or project work you created.

Delete your account

  1. Sign in at gumstory.com/login.
  2. Open Settings → Account.
  3. Under Delete account, type DELETE, enter your password if you use one, and confirm.

Your sign-in is revoked and personal information is removed. Work you added to shared projects stays in place and remains linked to your internal user id with a frozen work label for filters and history.

What is deleted

  • Email address and password (account closure)
  • Profile name, username, photo, and job details
  • Connected Jira OAuth tokens
  • Sessions and linked OAuth providers
  • Personal preference and draft-usage counters

What is kept

  • Projects, boards, tickets, test cases, and comments
  • Activity and history attributed to your internal user id
  • Assignee references and denormalized assignee labels on work items
