Workflow demo

See GumStory in action

Two minutes from a blank board to a daily report draft: watch a sprint item move, a test run finish, and the DSR update.

Why teams switch

Less scavenger hunt, more shipping

The 5pm status scramble

Your PM asks for a standup summary while you are still hunting through Jira comments and yesterday's test notes. GumStory builds the DSR from what actually changed today.

Tests that drift from the board

A story moved to Done but nobody ran the linked cases. Keep sprint items, test library, and run history in one project so QA and dev see the same picture.

Charts nobody trusts

Burndown lives in a spreadsheet someone updates on Fridays. Dashboards read from live item and run data instead of a copy-paste tab.

How it works

From a rough note to a shared report

1

Capture the work

Paste a Slack thread or a one-line bug note. GumStory drafts a structured story, test case, or defect you can edit before it lands on the board.

2

Run the suite

Group cases by feature, start a run, and mark each step passed, failed, or blocked. Results stay tied to the sprint items they cover.

3

Ship the DSR

Open the daily status report: item moves, run outcomes, and blockers are already assembled. Tweak a sentence, export, and send.

Inside the product

What you actually touch day to day

Daily status from real activity

The DSR pulls from item transitions, completed runs, and recorded pass/fail results. You edit the narrative, not reconstruct it from memory.

Drafts from a messy note

Work Assistant turns "login fails on Safari" into a bug with steps, expected result, and severity. Nothing saves until you approve it.

Runs tied to your library

Sections like Checkout or API group dozens of cases. One run tracks progress across the suite with blocked items surfaced for standup.

Burndown without a side sheet

Sprint burndown and pass/fail breakdowns update as the team moves work. No export to Excel to answer "are we on track?"

Jira when you want it

Connect Jira Cloud over OAuth and push or pull issues. Or skip it entirely and run GumStory as the system of record.

Role views for SM, QA, PO

Scrum Master, QA, and Product Owner dashboards highlight the slice each role cares about: blockers, coverage, or milestone narrative.

A concrete example

Thursday, 4:45pm

Sprint demo is tomorrow. The PM needs a status report.

Without GumStory

Maya opens Jira for moved tickets, TestRail for run results, and Slack for blockers. Forty minutes later she pastes fragments into a doc, hoping nothing slipped through.

With GumStory

She opens the daily status report. Today's item moves, a blocked login run, and two passed regression cases are already in the draft. She tightens one paragraph and sends.

FAQ

Questions people ask us

Can I try it without signing up?

Yes. Hit Open the app on web and you get a live guest workspace. Play with boards, cases, and a sample report. Sign up only when you want your own projects saved.

Which platforms is it on?

Any modern browser for the full app. We also ship Android and Windows installs. There is no iOS app yet, so iPhone users should use the web app.

Do I need Jira to use it?

Nope. Plenty of teams run entirely inside GumStory. If you already live in Jira Cloud, OAuth sync is there when you want two-way issue flow.

How does the daily status report work?

It reads what changed in your project that day: status moves, test runs finished, pass/fail/block counts. You get an editable draft, not a blank page.

Is there a free version?

Free tier covers personal projects with daily assisted-draft limits. Pro lifts caps on drafts, storage, and collaborators. The pricing page lists exact numbers.

How is this different from Jira or TestRail?

Jira owns issues. TestRail owns cases. GumStory is where your sprint board, test library, run results, and standup report live together. Jira sync is optional glue, not a requirement.
