The basics

What is GumStory?: GumStory is a workspace for software teams. You plan sprints, write and run test cases, and get a daily status report built from the work that actually got done. It can also draft user stories, test cases, and bug reports, and it connects to Jira if you use it.
Can I try it without signing up?: Yes. Open the web app and you can look around and use the core tools without creating an account. You only need to sign up when you want your work saved to your own workspace.
Which platforms is it on?: It runs in any modern browser, and there are native apps for Android and Windows. There is no iOS app yet.

How does the daily status report work?: Instead of typing an update from memory, GumStory looks at what changed in your project that day, such as items moved, test runs completed, and pass or fail results, and assembles a report you can review, edit, and share. You stay in control of what goes out.
What can the assistant draft for me?: Paste a rough note or a ticket and it turns it into a structured user story, test case, or bug report. You always get an editable draft, nothing is sent or saved without you. See Work Assistant.
Do you have test case and test run management?: Yes. You can keep test cases in a repository, group them into sections, and run them with passed, failed, and blocked results, similar to a dedicated test management tool. Results feed your charts and the daily report.
What charts and reports do I get?: Sprint burndown, test run pass and fail breakdowns, and status dashboards so you can see progress without building a spreadsheet by hand.

Do I need Jira to use GumStory?: No. You can run local projects and test cases without connecting any tracker. Jira is optional.
How does the Jira sync work?: You connect your Jira Cloud account with OAuth and link a project. From then on issues stay in sync, so you are not entering the same work in two places. See Tracker sync (Jira Cloud).
Where is my data stored, and can I delete it?: Your data lives in your own workspace and is tied to your account. You can remove it at any time. See our privacy policy for the details.

Is there a free version?: Yes, there is a free tier you can use to get started. Paid plans lift limits and add more. See pricing for what each plan includes.
Can my whole team use it?: Yes. Team plans let you add colleagues to a shared workspace. Pricing and seats are on the pricing page.
How do refunds work?: Refund terms are on our refund policy page. If something is not right, email us and we will sort it out.

How is this different from Jira or TestRail?: Jira is great for issue tracking and TestRail for test management, but they are separate tools. GumStory keeps planning, testing, and daily reporting in one place, and still talks to Jira if your team already lives there.
