Projects

Local projects, Jira-linked projects, and the project dashboard.

Creating a project

On the Projects page, use New project and enter a name. For Jira, connect your tracker first, then pick a Jira project from the list; GumStory stores a project row the first time you open it.

Welcome demo workspace

If you have no projects yet, GumStory adds a sample workspace named My projects with demo items and tests. Open the project, then use the gear icon (top right on the project dashboard) to archive or delete it.

Dashboard tabs

Each project has an Overview tab with KPI stats, recent issues, and charts. Role tabs (QA, Scrum Master, Project Manager, Product Manager, Executive) show role-specific widgets. Custom tab lets you run custom JQL. Items and Tests links open the Items and Tests pages for that project.

Items

Items are bugs, stories, and tasks. They are stored in GumStory and can be pushed to Jira when the project is linked. Add items manually or via Quick create.

Tests

Test cases live in GumStory. Add them manually or from Work Assistant. Runs record pass, fail, and blocked per case.

Questions & answers

Why do I see "My projects"?
It is the optional welcome workspace with sample data. Archive or delete it from the project dashboard (gear menu) if you do not need it.
What is the difference between Local and a Jira key?
Local means the project is only in GumStory. A key (e.g. SKY) means that card is linked to a Jira project with that key.
Tracker not connected — what now?
Use Connect (Jira Cloud) on the Projects page, or connect from Settings. Until then, you can still create and open local projects.
No Jira projects in the list
Confirm OAuth completed and that your Jira user can access those projects. Check Settings if the list stays empty.
Item “Link attachments” — what is that?
URL links only (design files, docs, builds). They are stored on the work item. File upload is not available there; field changes still appear under History on the item.
